I’m a Ph.D. Bioinformatics Scientist with 5+ years of industry experience, and I have a wide range of skills that can make your project a success, including expertise in next-gen sequencing (NGS) data analysis, programming, and statistics.
HOW I CAN HELP
With over 10 years of bioinformatics research experience under my belt, I can help you along every step of the project, including:
- Designing experiments: what sequencing technology to use, at what depth to sequence, and
how many individuals? Your needs might vary based on the organism, the phenotype, the complexity of the genomes you're sequencing, sample purity, and other factors. - Cost analyses: what is the most cost-effective way to get the data you need and have enough statistical power to draw valid conclusions.
- Data analysis: there is no gold standard approach to analysis, and in most cases, an individualized data pipeline needs to be used in order to identify the signal in large datasets. I can point you in the right direction, set up the pipeline, recommend tried and tested software tools for your project, and perform statistical validation of your results.
- Software development: For novel analyses, I have the programming expertise to write custom scripts and software for your needs.
- Manuscripts: writing the bioinformatics section in grants and papers and generating publication-ready figures.
